SUDARSHAN VIDYA MANDIR achieves another first by arranging an Overseas Educational Trip to its students. 37 students from Higher Primary, High School and ICSE Academy have been selected to take part in the NASA Space Camp program offered by The U.S> Space and Rocket Center & Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama. The students are accompanied by the Principal, Treasurer, and the Headmistresses of different wings of Sudarshan Vidya Mandir Institutions.

The tour itinerary is designed to balance a strong emphasis on education with a spirit of fun. The group will visit New York and Washington before embarking on to the week long NASA Camp.

The space program is used as the basis to excite children in the areas of Math and Science. Teamwork, Self-confidence and communication will be achieved with the fundamental aid of computer based flight simulators, missions, rocket building and robotics. The campers will learn about Space Shuttle systems and life aboard the  Orbiter ans Space Station. They will also try out space food, learn to sleep in space and get trained on the Multi Axis Trainer, in the 1/6 th Gravity Chair and many more such exciting things.

The group is leaving on 21st May 2008 and coming back on 9th June 2008.
